EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Looking for more than talk therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based therapy that can provide rapid and seemingly miraculous results, often in a relatively short time.

Originally developed for major traumatic experiences (like car accidents, sexual abuse, or deaths), EMDR has been shown to be effective on a wide range of issues.

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Body image
  • Attachment (relationship with yourself and others)
  • Self esteem issues
  • Performance enhancement

EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movement or tapping) to re-process difficult life experiences so that our brains and bodies are more able to respond to the reality of the present moment, versus the danger or difficulty of our past. EMDR is an effective complement to talk therapy, or can also be the center of our work together.

I trained in EMDR because I have experienced the results myself, and since training have seen my clients experience similar results. My triggering has greatly decreased. My persistent negative thought patterns have all but disappeared. I have a much greater capacity for love and compassion.

Many of my clients have also seen profound results. Through processing their trauma, clients realize they are whole and unbroken. They feel more authentically themselves than they had in years. Clients plagued by anxiety find a sense of peace and ease in their bodies. And clients successfully release negative thought patterns that they had been unsuccessfully trying to shift for years.

The end result? More ability to live a happy, fulfilling life.
